ISDN service is a technology favored by the Broadcasting & Recording Communities both for its reliability as well as for its superior audio quality. BRI, in particular, may be more appropriate for customers who are subject to ADSL limitations because of location. Additionally, customers using Satellite as their primary solution will often use ISDN BRI service as back-up during the satellite solar outages. These events can occur during the equinoxes in Fall and in Spring, compromising satellite signal quality.
ComTech offers very aggressively-priced SDS (Switched Data Service) long distance service for ISDN BRIs. This service is provided by a major underlying Tier One Carrier. The CTE provisioning process is relatively quick once the order paperwork has been processed. Usually, the customer makes a call to their Local Phone Company to request a PIC (Prescribed Interexchange Carrier) CODE change to the new carrier. Once this has transpired, the new customer is instructed to place a few short long distance test calls. Generally within 48 hours, the new service has been confirmed as "active" and will be ready for usage/broadcasting.
The new Customer is assigned a CTE Account Manager for the Tenure of their service. This person is their Primary Contact in case of questions or concerns regarding service.
